I’ve heard people use the word “collagen” in conversation, like “I need collagen” (a girl said this to me). I know what collagen actually is, but what’s the meaning of it?

I think she was referring to wanting a collagen injection. That would be a procedure where collagen is injected, thereby plumping up her lips to enhance their sensuality.
