Hello And Welcome Back!We hope the resources on this site will lead you towards a healthy natural lifestyle.

Dear All, This is my response to Dr. Barry Sear’s Fish Oil, omega-3 fatty acid video. Thanks for watching! For more information on fish oil and what fish to eat, please check out my blog: bostonmedicalstudent.wordpress.com Here is more info: 1) For a general overview of omega 3 fatty acids, this is a good summary: lpi.oregonstate.edu This Newsweek article is also a good summary (it’s a shorter article): www.msnbc.msn.com 2) For my video, I relied primarily on: Lee et al., Current Clinical Applications of Omega 6 and Omega 3 Fatty Acids. Nutrition in Clinical Practice 21:323-341. This is the review article written by the faculty and doctors at Harvard Medical School. Other random, but interesting facts: “There have been a number of clinical trials assessing the benefits of dietary supplementation with fish oils in several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases in humans, including rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis and migraine headaches. Many of the placebo-controlled trials of fish oil in chronic inflammatory diseases reveal significant benefit, including decreased disease activity and a lowered use of anti-inflammatory drugs.” From: www.jacn.org “As such, at the moment, there is some expectations of benefits and a reasonable certainty of no harm (from omega-3′s). Dose requirements for the prevention of sudden death (in the order of 0.85 g/day EPA plus DHA in the GISSI-Prevenzione trial [98]) are

    ur so cute…lol
but i’m also in the medical field and i researched alot about fish oil, now i’m starting to take this :D
but how much is the ideal amount to get the maximum benefits?
is 1g. enough? and is it okay to take up to 3g?
is there such a thing as taking too much? or is it okay?
i don’t have any underlying disease and i’m pretty healthy. but i just want the maximum benefits for the future.

before i would masturbate 8 times a day on an average and feel weak and if i abstain from sex or masturbation it would make me one furious angry man at work
i started having strange sexual fetishes like enjoying to sniff my girlfriends queefs and farts sniffing her sweaty hairy armpits, she would enjoy pissing on my chest

but after omega 3 life is wonderfully sane

any oil or fish that has been in the air more than one hour after its fished it becomes RANCID !! bad for the human body to comsume !!!! and after it has been through the process of distillation…its dead like the rocks on the moon !! omega3 supplements are a multimillion dollar industry !! .

  7. lauls85 says:

Hi I have questions about omega 3. I have seen products that have majority EPA and another products that have majority DHA in pill form. Which one is better, majority EPA or majority DHA? And for salmon oil supplements, how come they are so low in omega 3. if they are so good for you? If you choose an omega 3 supplement, which one would you rather have? more EPA or more DHA? Does EPA converse into DHA in our bodies when we need it? Or vice versa? Thanks

First of all fish oil supplements are a processed food !and they become Rancid on the process . all fish is contaminated with MERCURY and PCB …want to be healthy grow your own food and dont eat process foods my great grandmother died when she was 105 and she didnot take fish oil and no vitamin pills !! people are lazy to cook so they eat garbage ! and sit on the computure and on the cell phone getting emf radiation . and wonder why they have cancer or high blood pressure !

omega three is now being used in the AREDS 2 study for macular degeneration, so it is main stream now in the eye community to treat dry eyes and now macular degeneration. i think the newest science also point to using a triglyceride form omega three fish oil instead of ethel ester fish oils. good luck in med school, glad to see medical student that is interested in nutrition.

I eat a decent amount of eggs, it says there is omega 3 in them but i assume it would be a very low amount, i just got some omega 3 oil capsuls from sardine and anchovy sources, which i liked because how often does one eat those types of fish, im gonna start taking one a day with breakfast, does that sound positive to you Doc?

  17. fifafreak310258 says:

Fish oil especially its content DHA is associated with Type 2 diabetes. People make sure that u dn take more than the body needs. For healthy people its around 1gm of EPA + DHA per day.

@xiaornb I don’t think so, but It works for obese people to lose weight.

  19. tusharip says:

@xiaornb Dear Xiaornb, no in this amount it will not switch your body into fat making
Depends on your activity and relative BMR (the basic energy usage of your body in regard to your body weight and hight). If you eat more “calories” than you use- you would gain weight in the form of fat or muscle depends on your activity.

    Good luck gaining weight.

    P.S
Eat correct consult a dietitianist don’t too much too fast and combine
fibers to help with good stool. (note that fibers prevent carbs uptake)

  20. Tinker7300 says:

@xiaornb I usto be really thin my self until I started going to the gym and started lifting weights. Going to the gym isnt only for people who want to loose weight but its also great for people who want to tone up and build muscle. I’m 5’1 and I usto weight 90 pounds. Since I started working out I now weight 108 which is perfect for my height and body size. Go to your local gym and speak to a personal trainer and he or she will give u great tips.
