Hello And Welcome Back!We hope the resources on this site will lead you towards a healthy natural lifestyle.
How much fish oil should you take for depression? Amanda Rose, Ph.D., explains how much to take and, perhaps more importantly, how to read the label of a fish oil bottle to determine if you are getting enough of the right kind of oil. Research tells us that it may be effective in relieving depression, but the devil’s in the details. www.fishoildepression.net Find the book at Amazon www.amazon.com

I’m currently suffering from depression, and out of the blue my dad offered me one of his fish oil pills. Two hours later I was definitely in a brighter mood, and my brain just felt “clearer”, can’t find any other word for it. I didn’t know of its mental benefits beforehand so I’m certain it wasn’t a placebo effect. Still taking it, and it makes a huge difference in my ADHD and depression.
@RebuildfromDepressio what was the name of the fish oil that you were pointing out in the video the one that you said has a high dose of epa ? if you could let me know pls thank you .
@kane115 Now see, that’s a much more clever comment. Thank you.
@kgrahambuster That’s in the recommended range. More would probably be better but I know that at some point it’s a budget-buster.
@Bulby93 You need to work a professional on this issue. Definitely don’t just stop the medication.
@MakeABanana I hate to discourage humor, but let’s at least be clever with it.
That bird did not approve of your fish oil recommendations.

Do you know if its possible to beat depression without medication at all? I want to get off my medicine, im not severely depressed, but i am down quite a bit.
@RebuildfromDepressio .hi i recently started taking an oil for depression, the name of it is , mind1st puraEPA after watching your video i look at the bottle and it says each capsual contains epa 300mg, gla 22mg and vit e , i take 4 a day would this be enough as have been searching for a natural way to fight my depression. any advice on this product would be greatly appreciated. kind regards
@jammingwithmarley I wrote a book on it, literally. It’s not the mg of Omega 3 in this case, it’s the type of Omega 3 that’s important. Fish oil actually has a better ratio too of Omega 3 to 6 than what you cite for hemp oil.
Have you ever taken hemp seed oil on a consistent basis? If you have you will know what I’m talking about. Hemp seed is the most nutritionally complete food source in the world. Hemp seed oil is the most perfectly balanced oil with an ideal ratio of 3:1 omega 6:3. Hemp seed oil is the highest oil in EFAs at ~80%. Hemp has been used in china since 4000 B.C. The list goes on…it is superior to fish oil in my wise eyes. You should do more research on it and try it. Have a nice day.
@jammingwithmarley Hemp seed is definitely not better. It’s the long chain Omega 3 EPA for which there is the most evidence in research. Hemp seed has ALA. For most of us, our bodies can convert ALA to EPA but there are a minority of people who do not make the conversion. It’s an inefficient solution at best.
hemp seed oil is most likely better
