Often when betta’s are introduced to a specific type of food, they’ll decide whether or not they enjoy it. Sometimes it may take a few tries to figure out what flake/pellet food your betta approves. I recommend betta food manufactured by either Hikari Gold or Tetra. Wardley is a good company, but betta’s are picky.
Your betta will need protein as they’re primarily carnivorous. I recommend live/frozen brine shrimp, blood worms, mysis shrimp, black worms, meal worms, etc. Feed him that at least twice weekly.

yes they do care like humans. lets say that u hate chili and u dont want to try it or smell it, that is the same with all fish. there are certain foods that they just dont like. even if they are for bettas some bettas are delictae with foods and they will even starve til death because they dont like the food.
try changing the food.
u should buy pellet food all bettas like that.
or try betta flakes
freeze-driend bloodworms by tetras
babyshrimp by tetra not all bettas like it but mines love it.
frozen brine shrimp this is a favorite food by most fish.
He is trying to soften it,
bettas are actually very picky eaters they eat when and what they want and if they dont like what your giving them they wont eat it they can go up to 2 weeks without eating and still be ok though so dont worry about that i would suggest getting a couple different kinds of food

this should answer your question a little better
Feed it the old food.
Mine did that for 5 days then died!
If you haven’t changed the water in a while, try changing the water but make sure it is at the right temperature. Beta’s like having stuff like plants in the tank with them. If you put a mirror up to the tank most likely it will see it’s reflection and be a little more active and try to defend it’s territory. don’t keep the mirror up all day.just every once and a while.
Answer
You can try soaking the pellets before you put them in the tank for feeding. You could also try flakes that float, or blood worms dont overfeed on blood worms though, it’ll make him to FAT.
Answer
Try giving your betta another type of food. They hate eating flakes and sometimes pellets. Other brands of pellets might work. Bettas love frozen, or better yet, freeze-dried, food like bloodworms or plankton. Or if you can’t get your betta anything else, try skipping his feeding for two, only two days, and he’ll be so hungry he’ll be able to eat his nasty food even if he’s picky.
Answer
Blood worms are definitely the most efficiant and reliable way to feed your Beta. The little pellets are fine but the fish will get sick of eating them.
Many bettas don’t eat right away since they are still adjusting to their new home. Give him a day to get comfortable and then feed him.
