It’s like asking “I bought a chicken, will it make me gain weight?”
Depends on how much protein you were already eating in your diet
Weight training makes you bigger because your muscle fibers tear and then repair themselves to deal with the artificial stress of lifting heavy stuff. You need protein to build and repair muscles after weight training.
Whey protein is a common protein supplement to help in making sure you have enough protein to repair and grow as much as possible.
Gaining muscle will make you gain weight (unless you’re burning more fat than you’re gaining in muscle of course). The protein will help you gain muscle.
So yes, in the long run it will. But only really as a result of your weight training in conjunction with a high protein diet.
